Advising Tools for Current and Prospective Students
Academic success depends greatly on responsibility taken on by the student. Students are not expected to "know it all" when they arrive at college, but instead, through the help of their advisors, are lead on a course of self-discovery during their college experience. Below is a list of links and articles which may be helpful to students on their road to success.

- Understanding your Learning Style is an important factor in Student Success. Click the link above to take a FREE learning styles inventory. Once there, click on “Questionnaire” to complete the learning styles inventory.
Then, after you finish your inventory, you can read your results and find study tips from the provided links. Or, you may make an appointment with Rebecca Emerson (831-9828) in the Sullivan Success Center for personalized learning styles coaching and study strategies. If you’d like a free, personalized learning styles session, please be sure to print your results page and bring it with you to the appointment.

- The Course Applicability System allows Kentucky college students interested in transferring to discover how their current college credits will transer into other institutions with the Commonwealth. Students may log in as a guest to check transfer issues without saving their information, or they may create an account to save their personal information for future use. This service is free.
- The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a US government publication which outlines employment trends in the United States. Students and community members may use this valuable tool when making decisions about what careers to persue and what training will be the most valuable for them. For additional job trend and employment information, contact Angie Watson in the Career Service department.
- Earning and maintaining a good Grade Point Average (GPA) is vital for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution. The GPA Calculator helps students determine what grades they need to earn in upcoming classes to get their GPA to where they would like it to be.
- Tips for Promoting Academic Success contains basic guidlines every student must follow to gain and maintain academic success.
