Community Read Kick-Off
Community read kick-off
Everyone is invited to Henderson Community College’s first Community Read Kick-Off on Wednesday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Student Center. This month’s feature book is “Life on the Color Line: The True Story of a White Boy Who Discovered He was Black” by Gregory Howard Williams.
“We would like to promote the idea of everyone reading the same book, “ said Lilia Joy, HCC assistant professor and one of the organizers. The idea came about from the college’s Interdisciplinary Learning Community. The goal is to have another book discussion in April and then next fall invite an author for a public lecture.
Other members of the learning community include David Fritts, Paul Kasenow, Lorie Maltby, Lori Threlkeld, and Cathy Hunt.
