WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS HELPS MEET NEEDS OF KY BUSINESSES AND INDUSTRIES
Henderson, Ky. - (December 10, 2009) The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) has launched a new brand aimed at training today’s Kentucky workforce for the jobs of tomorrow. The Workforce Solutions brand was created after conducting meetings with key business leaders and CEOs across the state, and assessing the critical workforce and economic issues that must be addressed in order to transform the state’s economy.
“Though you might know us better as Community and Economic Development, our new name ‘Workforce Solutions’ better describes what we do,” said Pamala Wilson, dean of workforce solutions at Henderson Community College. “We find cost effective solutions to industry’s needs and design training programs to meet those needs.”
Jim Butkus, president and general manager of Audubon Metals, LLC, expressed his positive feelings and support for KCTCS and Henderson Community College Workforce Solutions staff.
“Without their presence and interactions with our company, Audubon Metals LLC, we would have suffered severe training and learning gaps and deficiencies,” said Butkus. “With the quality and cost justified programs we have participated in, we have been able to enhance the knowledge and performance of our most critical component for success; our employees. Dramatic improvements have occurred within our maintenance department from the training programs offered by KCTCS, including electrical, hydraulic, and PLC. Our overall plant operations have benefited greatly from LEAN training.”
In addition, Butkus commended Joe Razzano and his staff for being an integral component to their company’s success .
“Audubon Metals, LLC is just one of the many companies Henderson Community College has worked with to enhance the labor force and company’s performance,” said Wilson. “Our goal is to help manufacturers identify their needs and then provide a cost effective solution. By using various project funds, HCC can often help a company in its training investment.”
Henderson Community College Workforce Solutions is focused on providing education in high-growth, high-wage jobs, particularly in key industry growth segments such as health care, manufacturing, energy, banking and financial services and construction and trades.
