100 titles will be added to the book and audio-visual collection for each of the following ten programs: Agricultural Technology, Business Technology, Clinical Laboratory Technology, Dental Hygiene, Early Childhood Education, Human Services, Industrial Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Medical Assisting and Nursing over a three-year time frame. One-third of the titles will be added in 2002-03

Titles added to the ten programs are as follows:
Ag. Tech: 16; Business Tech: 8; CLT: 52; Dental Hygiene: 31; ECE: 21; Human Services: 18; IET: 9; Info. Tech: 14; Medical Asst: 59; Nursing 260. Acquisitions for the programs were unbalanced this year. Purchasing was influenced by pending NLN and AAMAE visits. Emphasis must be placed on the relatively new programs of IET, ECE, and Ag. Tech to develop core collections for students and faculty.

Identify titles through trade journals and web sites dedicated to the improvement of the academic programs.
Solicit title recommendations from faculty members of each academic program.
Refer to American Library Association and American College Research Library Association publications recommending titles for these academic programs.
Attend library conferences and visit with book vendors selling titles in these academic disciplines.
Exhaust the book budget purchasing titles.
Notify faculty and staff via email about the availability of the titles after they arrive. |
