2005-06 Notable Accomplishments
- As part of the library's ongoing commitment to learning-centered instruction, the library adopted the eCommunity feature of the Blackboard software. This feature allows the creation of concise "Learning Units" that provide information and instructions for a wide variety of services and tools provided by the library. The first "Learning Units" provided were those useful for at-risk students and developmental courses.
- Saundra Voegel was hired as the Library Technician for Circulation and Periodicals.
- A flat screen TV was installed on the ground floor commons area. This TV was installed to provide students with access to current events/news channels like CNN.
- Additional Audubon prints were collected, framed and hung to enhance the appearance and ambiance of the library.
- Mike Knecht and Kevin Reid presented the paper, "Information Literacy for the At-Risk Student" at the May 2006 New Horizons Teaching and Learning Professional Development Conference.
