2004-05 Notable Accomplishments
- The library contributed to the successful re-accreditation of the HCC Nursing Program. The on-site visit by the team from the National League for Nursing Accreditation Programs resulted in the team officially identifying the library as "a notable strength of the Nursing Program at Henderson Community College."
- The library’s existing ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) system was replaced with a new energy-efficient and environmentally friendly geothermal HVAC system. During this process library operations were relocated to a temporary location in the Administration Building. This insured that students experienced no loss of services or access to library materials while the project was completed.
- The library, in response to student feedback, introduced a new policy allowing food and drink in the library. This new policy, in conjunction with the new HVAC system, resulted in a more popular and heavily used facility for our students.
- The library's Verical File was reorganized and updated to make it a more efficient tool for research on local issues and developments.
- Mike Knecht and Kevin Reid presented the paper, "Marketing Library Resources Through Televised Bulletin Boards" at the spring conference of the Kentucky Library Association.
