Testing Procedures
American College Testing
The ACT Assessment tests are given five times a year at HCC. These dates are set by ACT and are followed by all testing centers across the nation. ACT will be given in October, December, February, April, and June. You must advance register through ACT to take these tests. ACT registration packets are available in Room 121 of the Administration Building or you may register on line with ACT.
General Educational Development (GED) Tests
The General Educational Development (GED) Test is given several times throughout the year. Prior to testing, all examinees must meet a "test readiness" requirement and obtain and application to take the exam. Applications for applicants under nineteen (19) years of age must be made at the Henderson County Board of Education Office.
Applications for applicants over nineteen can be made at any of the local Adult Education & Literacy providers. Testing for the GED begins at 12 noon and ends at approximately 5 p.m. both days.
The GED testing fee is $40.00 for the entire battery of tests or $10.00 per sub-test, except writing which is $11.85 when re-testing. Fees must be paid prior to testing at the Adult Learning Center, Room 7, Administration Building. To obtain more information on GED testing, contact the Adult Learning Center at (270) 831-9648.
